In the last six years, Toronto has become so over centralized and dominated by commercial interests at the expense of community interests that people who knew us six years ago can hardly believe the stultification that has occurred of our creativity as a city. Torontonians want it back. Just as Ryerson has its own community radio station which is thrown open to the voices within the community, we desperately need a community TV station which will bring forth the creative energy of the citizens themselves, give them a forum in which to debate and discuss the issues of the day, and develop a format which will inform, entertain and most important of all, give us back our sense of place and purpose.

You cannot, you must not, succumb to commercial interests who fear competition or criticism, a rather surprising twist when it is these very interests who are constantly trumpeting the virtues of choice, freedom and competition.

Enough of suppression and power plays and bring back the democratic vision we once knew by granting us, the citizens of Toronto, our own community tv station. Give Star Ray TV its license, and let us bring it to mature fruition.
